Donna M. Skurzak, MA, CDP (she, her, hers) is a distinguished leader in the fields of healthcare management, end-of-life care, and diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and advocacy. With a career spanning over three decades, Donna has made significant contributions to organizational development, systems, and applied strategic thinking. She has fostered inclusive environments, improved performance, and promoted health and workforce equity across a range of healthcare, and organizational settings.

Donna has extensive experience in complex organizations working across systems that include a diagonal slice of each organization. She has experience in the fields of private practice, business administration, management and leadership positions. She has worked across a continuum that includes end-of-life care, health equity, team building, management, consultation, and coaching. Donna gained leadership experience as an Executive Director for the Visiting Nurse Association of Cleveland Hospice and was responsible for operations, community outreach, talent recruitment and hiring, labor relations, and organizational and business development. Her specialties include navigating complex systems in local and global settings, strategic and systems thinking, end-of-life care, health equity & and disparities, health literacy, bioethics, cultural competency and inclusion, belonging, and advocacy. As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion practitioner, she assesses systems, applies strategic thinking, builds and creates competent systems, and initiatives to achieve the best from all for all.
Donna's most recent position as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, provided the opportunity to work across the healthcare system and communities it serves, from the USA, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Donna connected the business case for diversity, equity, and inclusion, developed the system-wide, cultural competency initiatives, coordinated the Human Rights Campaign's - Healthcare Equality Index, and advised nationally recognized Employee Resource Groups and Diversity Councils to support Cleveland Clinic’s global strategy.
Donna promotes values-driven strategies, emotional intelligence, and cultural competency, to impact employee relations, patient care, and the community, to yield positive results for patients, employees, and the systems they serve.
Donna received a BA in Psychology / Business from Case Western Reserve University; an MA in Human Services, from John Carroll University; a Certificate in Bioethics, from Cleveland State University, and an MA in Organizational Psychology - Diversity Management, from Cleveland State University. She has coaching certificates from the Gestalt Institute and Cleveland Clinic’s Global Leadership and Learning and certification in Executive Coaching for Executives and Physicians. She is the founder and President of Diversity, Management Solutions, DMS, LLC. She serves on three non-profit boards, Malachi House, a home providing end-of-life care: GroundWorks Dance Theater, and Getting to We, whose mission is social trust, and racial and gender equity to support humans becoming better humans.
