CUSTOMIZED TRAINING

Customized training is a proactive approach to individual and workforce development. It builds competencies that can be used in everyday life - in the workplace and personal day-to-day interactions. It provides skill-building to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace. It considers the unique needs of each organization. It considers successes and addresses diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging challenges with specific objectives designed to support and meet the system's goals through employee learning and development.
 

The overall steps to building customized training include:

  • Assessment and Analysis - meeting with identified leaders to assess the organization's current landscape; the reasons for the training, and the end goal for the organizations and those participating.
  • Instructional Design - building the learning module or content to meet the identified objectives and anticipated outcomes. There is a range of choices. Resource materials, case studies, experiential activities, consideration of internal and external demographics, cultural competency levels, workshops, and pieces of training are some examples of what can be developed to yield the best results.
  • Delivery - Agreeing how the content will be delivered to the workforce - virtual, online instructor-led, in-person, instructor-led, or eLearning - self-review online. Agreeing how it will be evaluated finalizes this step.
  • Content Review- draft and review the content with the identified leads before the module.
